Dave has more than 30 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience and has executed over 200 transactions, for large public companies including Avon Products, Xerox, Eastman Kodak, Toys “R” Us, Hilton Hotels, Dial, Viad and Textron, and for entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses.
His work has included the $3 billion sale and restructuring of Security Pacific Asia Bank for Bank of America, Textron’s $2 billion acquisition of Cessna, the $2 billion spin-off of Hilton’s gaming operations, and the $780 million sale of Dobbs International Services to SAirGroup. In the middle market he has advised on the sales of Intercontinental Art to Madison Dearborn, K. Dave has also sat on the client side of the table. As Treasurer and Vice President of Corporate Development at Viad Corporation, a $6 billion NYSE-listed conglomerate, he chaired the investment and acquisition committees and directed the Lehman Brothers and Salomon Brothers teams on the $1.8 billion spin-off of MoneyGram. He later served on the board of Channell Commercial Corporation (NASDAQ: CHNL) as its designated financial expert.
The Los Angeles Business Journal has repeatedly named him one of the region’s most influential investment bankers, and the Los Angeles Times profiled him as an Investment Banking Visionary in 2021 and 2022. He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, The Deal and Variety, and has spoken at the Hawaii Tax Institute and the Association for Corporate Growth.
Dave began his career at Arthur Andersen and passed the CPA exam in a single sitting. He holds a B.S. in Accounting, magna cum laude, from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and an M.B.A., summa cum laude, from UCLA Anderson, where he later taught accounting and finance as an adjunct professor.
Outside the firm, Dave is a major benefactor of Middle Earth Sanctuary, the Italian-American Heritage Conservancy and Soldiers for Animals, and has served on the board of the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles. With his brother, he endowed the Americo and Carmela Iannini Prize at their high school.
